It was not pleasant to come home to an obvious deliberate gesture of anger

Subject: For the Person who put the box in our driveway

Normally, I  stay off the chatlist and read for info, etc..   It is a wonderful source of information.

BUT…Last week, I hauled two truckloads of trash to the recycling center.   And, didn’t realize a box fell off the truck until I saw the box the next day.  Yes, I knew it was there, and yes, I planned to pick it up.   It was on the side of the road, with our name and address on it.   So, obviously,  it was apparent to whom it belonged to.

I spent the beginning of the week at  Duke Hospital for visits with a family member and the remaining two days at UNC Cancer Center with my spouse, for  tests and chemo.  Picking up the box and taking it to the recycling center was on the list, but not the highest priority for the week.     So when we came home from the Cancer Center Friday around lunch we found the box sitting in the middle of the driveway, and I, of course,  had to get out and move it…well anyone who has experienced a family member going through extensive chemo indefinitely can imagine the feeling.    My spouse has add’l  chemo running through him for 2 days, after our chemo visits to the hospital – so it was not pleasant to come home to an obvious deliberate gesture of anger.

It would have been really nice if the person who put the box in our driveway (I’m guessing they know us) would have been a little more considerate.   Putting the box on the side of the driveway, or even calling would have been a kinder gesture.   Perhaps if they knew what others are going through would have offered to take it to the dump on their next  trip to help out?

My point is –  one never knows what is going on in people’s lives..     Think… Do not assume.    Be kind and love one another.   We are all only here for a little while.
