Subject: Gene Galin’s use of the Chatlist
A recent post referred to the Chatlist as “Gene’s private bully pulpit”. In actuality, it is everybody’s bully pulpit as we all can post comments as long as we follow the simple and reasonable guidelines for all chat list submissions.
As a bully pulpit is a position of public visibility that some folks interpret as forcibly advancing a thought, I prefer to think of the chatlist as a community sharing forum where we (hopefully) share our thoughts in an open, non-hostile manner.
Gene graciously make this fabulous resource available to ALL of us and occasionally uses it in the same way the rest of us do. And that seems appropriate to me
