Subject: Many thanks, much deserved
Wednesday evening just before dark a driver struck a power pole near Saralyn on Russell-Chapel Church Rd. Of course, the lights quietly went out. I called Duke Power and their representative apprised me of the full situation and expected repair time. I shared this fate with 500 other customers in this area. We joked together that it was nice that I was not a group of one.
The repair time went well beyond that projected duration. Later, driving out on Russell-Chapel I got a close up view of the work and the efforts fire and electrical crews were making in the area to keep non-essential people away. These folks plugged away for what must have been many hours in the cold darkness and Wala! the lights came on.
Thanks to each of you. How lucky we are to live on the reliable efforts of these crews.
