Chatham Seeks Public Input on County Website by Feb. 18

PITTSBORO, NC- Chatham County is in the early phase of a major upgrade and redesign of its public website, www.chathamnc.org.. The county asks people who visit their website or plan to visit it to provide input through a short online survey found at
www.surveymonkey.com/r/chathampublicfeedback

“Please complete the survey no later than Friday, February 18, 2016,” said Debra Henzey, director of Community Relations. “It will only take about eight minutes to finish the survey. When completing it, you may find it helpful to also have the current county website on your screen to look at features mentioned in the survey.”

Henzey said that it is important to know what website visitors like and do not like about the website as it currently is designed and formatted. “We can’t incorporate every single suggestion, but we will look for common themes in what people say and try to address those as best we can.”

Henzey said that the new website will run on software that should be more user friendly for people using different browsers and mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets. “It also will have some new features that we expect to be very popular, such as the ability to poll residents on options.”

The website project likely will take until the late fall of 2016 to be completed. “There are many steps and a lot of existing content to be transferred over. We also will need extensive training of county staff.”

In keeping with the NC Public Records Law, e-mails, including attachments, may be released to others upon request for inspection and copying.
