Subject: Great opportunity to have our first AFAM Planning Board Chairman

On Tuesday the Chatham county planning board will be electing a new chairman.

I’d love to see our current vice-chairman Cecil Wilson become the new chairman.

Among all the planning board members Cecil is one of those who has lived in the county the longest and he has seen many changes take place in this community.

Cecil is very familiar with the history and the people of the county.

Cecil and I served together as members of the Chatham County Strategic Plan Development Committee so many years ago. As part of it’s mission, the committee visited the various communities throughout the county to gather their input in developing the strategic plan that was signed on by all the local elected officials.

Cecil Wilson also serves his community by being an associate Minister of Harris Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Siler City, NC and a former member of Holland Chapel AMEZ Church Family

I think it would be a great opportunity to see Cecil, the current vice-chairman of the planning board, become the first minority chairman of the Chatham County planning board. I hope my fellow planning board members feel the same way.

NOTE: There is a public input portion at the beginning of each planning board meeting. If you’d like to show your support for Cecil feel free to come up and share your comments.
