The front cover of the September 2015 edition of “Our State” magazine features “100 Voices from 100 Counties – From Alamance to Yancey, who speaks for your county?” on page 148.
Who speaks for Chatham County? Illegal alien Maria Martha Pavon Martin. She speaks more boldly now that she has no fear of being deported. Illegal aliens may collect a lot of county, state, and federal money but Ms. Martin works for a non-profit 501C3 organization that collects HUGE amounts of free government grant money. (Much more than you and I make in a year.)
Her illegal husband worked at the chicken processing plant until it closed because there were no Chatham citizens who would do the work. None of you wanted the job.
How many Chatham citizens cannot find work today? Since 2007, all gains in employment have gone to “immigrants” while citizens must live on unemployment then savings then government handouts. None of you want the work illegal aliens are doing in Chatham County today.

Chatham citizens’ opportunities are limited because there are so many people here who only speak Spanish. Our citizens’ opportunities and resources are reduced to make accommodation for illegal aliens.
Who speaks for Chatham County? Who made Chatham County a sanctuary county (that means SAFE for illegal aliens)? Your democrat Board of Commissioners with the cooperation of everyone who did not speak up and push back. The voters who allowed the BOC to declare Chatham County a sanctuary county.
If you cannot find work and find yourself forced to accept government handouts, please understand your democrat party gave you this (with the help of the republican establishment).
