Tick Advice. I believe in Marcia Herman-Giddens’s advice in most cases, but I must differ in one thing. Removing a tick that is stuck is the most important priority. If it is already stuck, I don’t believe one could be in greater danger of infection by handling the tick- for instance- in removal. I always find the place where it lifts up, the body, and try to get my fingernails to grasp the head, and then pull. Always save the tick,of course, on a piece of scotch tape stuck to a card with the date. I don’t treat for infection unless I have symptoms.

Thanks for running this thread. It’s very important in this neck of the woods.
