Subject: birds back!
A couple of days before Thanksgiving a couple of birds returned to my feeders. Eventually more and more showed up (still no cardinals). This is the same feed, the same suet, the same seed cake (none of these are molded or wet) and the same water (well, it was changed) that had been there since the month before. No change in greenery, no change in neighboring fields (don’t live near any)….the environment was exactly the same in my immediate vicinity….have even seen squirrels in the past several days.
Someone wrote to me and said a neighbor (in the neighborhood behind me) had set up an extravagant feeder station recently. Maybe my birds just went to visit and decided home was better after all. This doesn’t, however, explain others’ lack of feathered friends. Hmmmmm
