This isn’t new. Progressives in the county tried to stop Fearrington back in the day, now it’s a progressive stronghold. Governor’s Club, The Preserve, all polarizing developments that local progressives tried to stop at the time but provided them with political strength once they were built. Remember when Chapel Ridge was something conservatives wanted and progressives didn’t? Today it is apparently the source of most of the signatures on the petition against the nearby shooting range.

Be careful what you wish for. When you advocate for approval of large, Cary-like developments in Chatham County, don’t act surprised or disappointed when Chatham County becomes Cary West, complete with “outsiders” making the rules for everyone once they are the majority. .
