Subject: Is it wrong to expect more ?
Lately I have been engaged in some discussions over local politics . I am supportive of our current commissioners but as I stated I will vote for who will do the job to suit my needs and views of local government . I hear a lot about transparency but not much on accountability for lack of doing a job . I see lots of grand promises and fancy speeches but I realized many politicians bank on the fact people just don’t think and vote emotionally on things . I am speaking to everyone of every party right now . Do not vote emotionally for anyone who waves a flag for something you hold dear to your heart without getting the facts .
I left the democratic party after I realized they no longer reflected what was important to me and my families long term prosperity and happiness . I didn’t jump ship to the republican party as I feel on a state and national level they are bought and paid for by lobbyist . If there ever is to be a ( Better day ) coming it wont be when politicians become honest it will be when we t the people wake up and hold all politicians accountable and expect more from them .
They are our employees paid for by our tax dollars . They are supposed to be good stewards with our money and protect our interest and views of how our government should be run . We need to become educated and we need to ask the hard questions of how will a candidate carry out their campaign promises ? How will they gain bipartisan support and work with others to improve our county ? We cant be blinded by political crap anymore . Its time we take their get out of jail free card and pass go cards to make them work for us . We have to start locally and put our politicians to the test and make a difference if we are ever to make a difference on a state and national level . I urge every voter to become educated on who they will vote for and how that person has worked with others in the past , their success and failures and their overall credibility . How well are these candidates grounded in Chatham County and will they fight or us or just use their position to benefit themselves and as a stepping stone to a higher political position leaving us to clean up their mess later .
I’m tired of outsiders jumping into Chatham politics and you should be to if you really value this place we call home .
We need people who will focus on Chatham county and not drag national and state politics into the arena of local voting .
This time vote with your head and not your heart .
Its time we expected more for Chatham County .
