I’m sorry I’m late to the table on this discussion. I know it’s about Charter Schools. My children moved here June 2001 I heard the school elementary middle sucked. I applied kids got in ASAP.
THANK GOD. HORTON PITTSBORO ELEMENTARY ARE AWFUL I heard. TEACHERS DON’T TEACH. TOO MANY KIDs. CHAOS.
NORTHWOOD IS GOOD. PERRY HARRISON NORTH CHATHAM ARE GREAT. THEY DESTROYED THOSE.
THE K-8 MODEL IN ONE SCHOOL IS THE CRUX, I FEEL.
EXAMPLE: MY SON NEVER HEARD SWEARING IN CLASSROOMS UNTIL 9TH GRADE. HE COME HOME From Northwood. said: “Mom kids use bad language right in class”. He wasn’t isolated.He played sports.4H. He didn’t go to a school were teachers administrators don’t have High Expectations.
My daughter is in DC. GWU.
All on her own first year of college.
She was Math prepared due to wonderful exceptional teachers who had expectations for their students their work place and students. My daughter returned to her own 8Th grade Math teacher for some HS geometry help.
Praise the Lord for Dale Bunch, Eta Foushee, The Principals and the school.
