Fundraiser SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11TH
On Saturday, October 11, 2014, Dogs Off Chains, Inc. (“DOC”) will hold its 1st Annual Fundraiser with Joe Bell and the Stinging Blades at the Pittsboro Roadhouse & General Store 39 West Street, in Pittsboro. During this evening filled with music and fun we will be raffling off Door Prizes and holding a Silent Auction. A selection of fabulous auction items include vacation homes at the beach and lake, local art and pottery, rounds of golf, delicious local treats, gift certificates from area businesses, and various gifts your pet will love! DOC needs your help in making this event a huge success! All proceeds will go towards funding for fence building supplies and vetting for dogs that are tethered in Chatham County.
No Cover Charge – Donations Gladly Accepted. Silent Auction begins at 6 pm

Dogs Off Chains (DOC) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving Chatham County, North Carolina, dedicated to improving the living conditions of outdoor Dogs in our community and helping to strengthen the bond between people and their pets.
DOC is funded by donations from compassionate people who want to change a Dog’s life and let her/him live a happy, chain-free life. All donations go directly toward helping individual dogs through our fencing program. We provide materials and volunteer labor to build free fences for dogs living on chains.
In addition, with the assistance of Chatham Animal Rescue & Education (CARE)’s Lillie’s Fund targeted spay/neuter program, we ensure every Dog served by DOC is spayed/neutered and vaccinated by arranging surgery and transporting to and from a participating veterinarian – all at no cost to the Dog’s guardian. We also provide doghouses and other miscellaneous items where needed. Our volunteers provide guidance on the proper care of our clients’ Dogs and conduct follow-up visits after fencing. We work to educate communities regarding Dogs’ needs and the negative impact of chaining them. Thus, we have witnessed an elevation of the standard of care for Dogs in entire neighborhoods.
The Stinging Blades are a bar band equally influenced by Memphis Soul, New Orleans R&B, Blues, and Rock & Roll. One reviewer said they are “on the far funky end where Southern rock crosses over to R&B.” Their goal, especially with their original songs, is to find the deep groove and invite dancers along for the ride.
