Subject: Cockman’s Appliance shout out
After being cancelled on for the 2nd time by an appliance repair place in Durham, I remembered a post about Cockman’s in Siler City (which is even closer to us out here in the western part of Chatham). I called at 9:30 a.m. and service people were here by 11. I was convinced to buy a new dryer (30 years was a long enough life) and informed that the washing machine needed a bit of work too.
After talking with Ms. Cockman in the store and telling her what I needed, she made some suggestions. This was very important given that I might have bought the wrong appliance on the advice of my brother who is an appliance person up north.
We sometimes lose power and having an appliance with a digital readout would be a hassle and potentially need more repairs. She steered me to a more appropriate dryer and all was set up and the washing machine fixed within 3 days!
This seems to be a well run family business who don’t try to upsell, but assist with getting the right appliance to the right customer. I didn’t have time to go to their store to look at the appliances, but was able to do it all via the telephone (with appliance checks via the internet). They responded to my call in record time and followed up with the goods promised. A friend of mine had appliance issues the following week and were happy with their services as well. I will definitely use them again!
