Quote thencphoenix post Sat 7 June. ” They want to make their community in their own image. They want Pittsboro to be their home and be a magical place, as it has always been”

So glad you said that; this is a legitimate wish and urge. Only this wish does not recognize the reality that Pittsboro shriveled to near death when the ‘Label Plant’ (now home to Chatham Marketplace et al.) closed and the area had not yet experienced the economic boost from spillover from the Research Triangle Park. I don’t know when thencphoenix was born or moved to Chatham County, but we all have to accept the plusses and minuses of changes in population and technology.

The only way to avoid population pressure (again, good and bad) is pregnancy prevention.

Let’s just be up front and guilt free about saying, ‘I like it like it is and don’t want it to change’ and/or ‘I want more people and business activity and will try to minimize the dislocations that such will cause.’
