Subject: Chatham Park vote and an Energy and Climate educational program
Though several important questions about density and others were raised and remain after the 4-1 vote, much depends on the quality of the working relationship of the town and the developers. Let’s hope they find the proper model of collaboration, including the issue that I raised during my two testimonies in earlier sessions.
I have suggested that the BOC ask the developers to help fund an Energy and Climate educational program for the Chatham County school district. This would not only help strengthening community support of the zero-carbon town that Chatham Park wants to become, but contributing to the town’s, state’s, nation’s and world’s challenge in dealing with the looming climate catastrophe.
