JoltinJoe poked a hornet’s nest when he/she raised the subject of a person receiving Disability payments due to an inability to perform a tax-paying job.  JoltinJoe posted he knows  Norman  Clark who is running for Chatham County Commissioner is receiving SSA Disability.

Yes, this is the same  Norman  Clark  who joined the Chapel Hill Fire Department in 1992 and still in their employ in 2006.

I think it is valid to wonder and ask candidate  Norman  Clark  , “What is the disability that makes it impossible for  Norman  Clark to be gainfully employed therefore requiring taxpayers to pay him to NOT work?”  Those of you who know  Norman  Clark , how has Mr. Clark’s disability shown up to you?

I know quite a few former co-workers who applied for and received SSA SSDI for the rest of their lives due to their reaction to “too much stress”, overuse of one or more specific muscles, or an “on-the-job injury”.  I know of several people who were unemployed for a long time.  They were able to find a psychiatrist who “diagnosed” depression over being long-term unemployed, with elevated blood pressure and asthma and, therefore, unable to work and qualified for SSA Disability.

Recent news reports have highlighted several widespread investigations of SSA SSDI abuse and fraud.

But let’s get back to  Norman  Clark.  This is the same Norman Clark who was part of the “Human Relations Commission” that seemed to emphasize what divides our county and “people of color” over color blind people.  The same Norman Clark who went in front of tv cameras and newspaper reporters to publicly declare the Chatham County Republican commissioners racists.
