Subject: Cat and Kitten Dumping Pittsboro, NC
Someone has dumped off a large number of cats and kittens in our driveway leading to the Goathouse Refuge off of Alton Alston Road off 87N in Pittsboro, NC this week. So far we have caught 11, there are still some outside in the woods in this freezing rain storm. These cats and kittens are not feral, and were all obviously “house cats†. They do not have the ability to fend for themselves outside, much less in this storm. We can hear them crying in the woods. One of the cats had his claws cut down to the quick, so short that all of his fingers are bleeding and he is crying in pain. He is at the vet today.
If anyone has any knowledge of who dumped these animals here, please contact us. We will keep your identity completely confidential. This action was completely irresponsible and terribly cruel to these innocent animals, many of whom are still in the woods right now suffering through this storm. We are now in need of foster homes as we have no room for all of these kitties.. The medical care they are all going to require is going to be very difficult on us financially.
