After Donna Bianco’s post to the Chatlist a couple weeks ago, I sent her an email directly, explaining why my family hadn’t returned, and that I so missed her old place where she was in the kitchen, making some of the best food I’d had south of Little Italy in NYC.  I was very surprised when she replied and responded that she had been back in the kitchen since last summer – also, that there was a new menu that included a broader range of choices, both in food and as related to expense. I told her that we would give it another try, and today, we did.

My wife, father in law, and I went for lunch.. I had an awesome eggplant Parmesan sandwich, on focaccia bread. Not only was it wonderful, it was big enough to be both lunch this noon, and dinner tonight. My wife and father in law both ordered pizzas – she has a wide variety of pizza sizes, sauces, and toppings. My father in law… A man who considers himself a connoisseur of pizza, took three bites and exclaimed ‘this is the best pizza I’ve ever had!’. This man is 83, and has eaten a LOT of pizza! My wife was able to select exactly what she wanted on her pizza, and hers was perfect as well. Service was good, and including soft drinks out bill for three for lunch was $23, $28 with tip. And honestly, we ate the other half of everything for dinner.

Donna- glad you’re back in the kitchen… Sorry it’s taken us so long to figure it out!!! I told Donna in my last email to her they she needs a big sign out front that said ‘Donna’s back in the kitchen!!!’ People need to support her restaurant – she creates delicious, reasonably priced food  – from locally sourced and organic ingredients.
