I wish to applaud a local business. Norm’s Farms was giving samples of its jams and jellies before Christmas at the Harris-Teeter or Lowes Foods on US15-501. The address on the label is Pittsboro, NC. I do not know where the farm is, but will look for their products on store shelves.
I purchased a jar of elderberry jam, spread it on some toast and tasted the fruit once again. Real flavor has become a faint memory with most processed foods today. The first jelly that my wife and I put up forty years ago was elderberry. I anticipate rediscovering other fruit flavors from next year’s crops.
