I would like cheap, fast internet access like apartment dwellers in Chapel Hill but I don’t want to live in Chapel Hill

Subject: Who should pay for my internet access?

Should renters barely scraping by in Siler City pay higher rents to cover higher property taxes so I can obtain faster, cheaper internet access (broadband or otherwise) from the county?  Should any Chatham property tax
payer pay higher taxes so the county can provide high speed, cheap internet access to everyone (or anyone)?

Anyone can check online for wireless broadband availability.  It is costly for heavy users but nevertheless available.  One Chatlist poster considered a private cooperative to share the expense with like-minded others but said that is too expensive.

CenturyLink and TimeWarner say they will install the equipment if the individual is willing to pay for it.  But that is too expensive.

I would like cheap, fast internet access like apartment dwellers in Chapel Hill but I don’t want to live in Chapel Hill.  Does anyone think it is morally right to force CL or TW to provide me with high speed internet access that is cheaper than wireless broadband?
