Subject: Christmas post 2013
I normally write a Christmas post and I’m having a hard time putting it together in my mind . I feel I need to share my thoughts on why Christmas is special to me . Its been a hard year for me to get into the Christmas spirit .
Atheist put a billboard up in Times Square stating ,( who needs Christ in Christmas , no one ). I found that to be one of the most offensive and stupid things I have ever read . Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and their right to voice it . Everyone also has the right to ignore opinions that differ from their own unless your a TV network who has shown more than once it wants to silence anyone with any opinions or beliefs other than their own .
It took one duck hunters profession of faith and what he believes to shake a billion dollar TV network down to its foundation . One time to many someone tried to silence a man of faith with some non offensive progressive atheistic I don’t want to offend someone policy . We are the largest Christian populated nation on earth so why is it all of a sudden Christian values are some kind of radical offensive statement causing emotional distress ?
Since when is saying Merry Christmas , wishing someone peace , hope and love offensive ? I posted my Angel request and again people of all kinds jumped to help these families who really were in need . They bought toys for the kids and supplies for the parents . Again these folks wanted to stay anonymous in the true spirit of Christmas . I began to see the reality that more of us have some kind of faith , some kind of humanity in us than those who insist there is no such thing as god . Miracles happen this time of year that wont happen any other time . Miracles aren’t always happy things but often take the place of something far worse .
Christmas 1995 after my daddy passed suddenly in September we received his autopsy report . My daddy passed as peacefully and painlessly as one can from an embolism . It was quick , he said good by , he loved us and simply went to sleep to wake no more . The autopsy confirmed an embolism took him even though it wasn’t clear as what caused it or why . It also confirmed something else we didn’t know . Daddy’s cancer that was thought to be in remission had returned aggressively to invade all of his vital organs . If the embolism hadn’t taken his life he would have started a very rapid and painful decent to the hospital for a few months of excruciating pain before he finally would have died . He said shortly before he died he felt the best he had in years . The embolism took daddy but god saved him before he could suffer any more . There was the answer I needed to give me peace for the Christmas of 1995 .
If you feel there is no god , if you feel its offensive that someone else does believe and you resent the fact someone wishes you a Merry Christmas ,, consider this . What sane minded person would not want to have someone wish them peace , joy and happiness ? Even if you have no faith your world is a brighter place because of those who have faith . I have faith Jesus is the reason for the season and I know god exist . I wish you great joy and peace this holiday season .
