Would neighbors “ALLOW”  George Vanderbilt to create the Biltmore Estate today?  What about the Global Transpark’s 2500 acres?  Do any of you think you are more qualified to improve a 7,000 acre investment than the rightful owners?  Or are you simply mean-spirited busybodies?

Do you truly think any developer sits in a smoke-filled room cooking up ways to waste 7,000 acres?  Do you truly think any developer conspires to make a failure or hurt their neighbors?

Lyle Estill demanded he be on the board of the Piedmont Biofuels Coop.  I guess he wanted to ensure he had some control over the board’s operations/management/decisions.  Why not open Piedmont Biofuels decisions to the entire Chatham Chatlist so that nasty combustible diesel does not seep into our soil and ground water and the noxious fumes do not pollute our air!  Heaven forbid!

Lyle Estill encourages volunteer help in HIS coop to keep labor costs down.  What kind of elegant employment does Mr. Estill provide Chatham citizens?  How much does Lyle Estill pay?  Does Lyle Estill take any compensation from his company and the sale of outrageously high-priced biodiesel?  Yet, Mr. Estill denigrates what some others  seek to build at Chatham Park.  He questions what kind of employment may show up.

There are multitude laws, rules, ordinances, permit requirements, etc. etc. etc. already in place that are monstrously restrictive and ALL designed to protect Chatham citizens.  I do not feel qualified to judge but I am amazed how many on this Chatlist have declared they are qualified.  How many believe they know better/best/more?

Shame on you all.  Being a “developer” does not mean one is evil.  Thinking YOU have the right to control somebody’s private property outside existing laws IS evil.  How would you like it if everyone on the Chatlist got to tell YOU what color your house must be, whether you could improve your house, that you MUST improve your house, what kind of car you may drive, what kind of plants you could/could not have, what kind of food you give your pets, how much sewage you may generate, whether you may use water on your lawn, landscape, ad nauseam.

And Lyle Estill, what if I got to tell you who to employ, how much to pay, what kind of payment you would be allowed to “enjoy”?  What if Chatlisters got to force you use sunflower oil or canola oil instead of animal fat to make biodiesel?  Silly, isn’t it?
