Subject: Chatham Park Revisited
John Dykers seems to think that the developmental explosion of Pittsboro is inevitable. And he is right that we have a population problem.
Infinite consumption on a finite planet might one day register as a problem to some.
In the meantime, perhaps we could gather together to protect our water, our wilderness, our night sky, and our downtown. Instead of accepting the town that they want, perhaps we could describe the town that we want.
As for the great jobs that Chatham Park Investors have on offer, what are they?
According to the current plan there will be jobs at the waste water plant.
And presumably good jobs at the water cleaning plant.
And perhaps there will be good jobs driving Le Bleu trucks after our water is no longer fit to drink.
Perhaps someone could make a living selling “Night Sky Blinds” that might remind us of what our night sky once looked like.
After that I’m out of tricks.
What are the good jobs again?
