The Chatham County Arts Council presents Pickin’: A Celebration, sponsored by Weaver Street Realty. It’s the 42nd Annual Concert of The Bluegrass Experience!
This year, we’re celebrating in fine fashion as the Chatham County Arts
Council once again brings together seven local bluegrass legends: Mike
Aldridge on mandolin, Stan Brown on banjo, Jimmy Cameron on mandolin, Tommy
Edwards at the front, Leroy Savage on guitar, Thomas “Snuffy” Smith on bass
fiddle, and Keith Thomas on fiddle. Individually, these guys have musical
accolades a mile long. Together, they’re known as The Bluegrass Experience,
and this is their 42nd year making music together.
You don’t play together for 42 years with that kind of talent without a few
things happening for sure: You get really dang good. You learn a lot and
teach a lot. And you end up with some pretty hilarious stories.
Show up a little early to buy yourself a barbecue plate served up by Hilton
Brothers BBQ, grab a drink, and hear young local-legends-to-be as the
Chatham County Junior Appalachian Music Band starts the pickin’ off with
gusto. See you there!
