Caroline Taylor, local Pittsboro author, will be at Paperbacks Plus! in downtown Siler City with her P. J. Smythe books on September 28th. from 11-1. Her first book, “What Are Friends For” and the second “Jewelry From A Grave” are both fast paced, light hearted spoofs of the classic hard boiled whodonits. They explore the lengths to which Annapolis, MD skip tracer P.J. Smythe must go to dodge a murder charge, track down a missing antique jewelry lover, look into the seamy side of illegal trade in wildlife – all while fending off the attentions of her former husband and a really desperate ex-boyfriend.
