Subject: Simple Gifts Market Accepting Applications
The 4th Annual Simple Gifts Alternative Gift and Fair Trade Market will take place on Friday, November 15th from 3-7 pm and Saturday, November 16th from 10 am – 3 pm. This year the market will be moving to Chatham Community Church’s Cole Park Plaza location.
At the market, holiday shoppers can honor others by making tax-deductible donations to local and global nonprofits as an alternative to a physical gift. A holiday card and gift description are included with each donation.
Fair trade is a movement whose goal is to give producers a fair price for their products in an effort to reduce poverty, provide ethical treatment to workers and farmers, and promote environmentally sustainable practices.
This year’s fair trade vendors include One World Market, Equal Exchange, and Espy Imports.
