Subject: Active Chatham Grant Available
Active Chatham, a community coalition that advocates for physical activity in Chatham County, is currently accepting grant applications for projects that increase access to physical activity opportunities in the county. These funds were raised from the annual 5K Reindeer Run last December. The total funding amount is $3,000 and one to three awards will be distributed. Organizations and agencies may apply for a funding amount up to $3,000.
The purpose of this grant is to provide physical activity opportunities located entirely within Chatham County for general public use. Funds should be used to create, enhance, or increase access to parks, trails, playgrounds, or sidewalks with the goal of increasing access to physical activity opportunities to the public.
Proposals will be accepted from municipalities, towns, schools, non-governmental organizations, associations, and businesses. Applications are due by July 19, 2013.
