Good morning Chatlisters, hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!
Check on what’s on tap this week at The City Tap

Wednesday @ 8:30 PM – *O**pen Mic*
Our open mic nights have really turned into a great evening with many local musicians showing off their talents.  Come on over to the City Tap and check out some of our awesome local talent for yourself, and as always, enjoy $1 off drafts on Wednesdays!

Thursday @ 8:30 PM  – *Taz Halloween & Robert Griffin*
The City Tap’s very own Taz Halloween will performing with Robert Griffin. Taz has been performing in this area for years bringing her indie/americana influenced style with a big helping of Chatham soul to the stage with various artists including the well known Kitty Box and the Johnny’s. Robert is an accomplished pianist who may be classically trained, but his heart beats to a jazz/blues tempo.  Taz and Robert have performed many times together and always bring it strong to the stage.

Friday @ 8:30 PM  – *The Guilty Pleasures*
Guilty Pleasures is an acoustic band from the musical heart of North Carolina, steeped in our State’s strong musical tradition but not afraid to venture into uncharted territory.  The band’s sound is centered in bluegrass and old-time music, but a typical Guilty Pleasures set touches all genres of Americana. They regularly mix in songs by Robert Johnson, Hank Williams, Elvis and George Gershwin. Dancing is encouraged, and dancers can select from the breakneck pace of Bill Monroe to the sorrowful lamentations of Hank Williams to the out-and-out weirdness of “The Cuckoo Bird.”

Saturday @ 8:30 PM  – * Eric Strickland and the B Sides*
Eric Strickland and the B Sides represent the perfect fusion of five individual musicians that live and breathe real honkytonk music. Eric’s unwavering vocals, solid songmanship, and Waylon-esque guitar stylings pave the way for an indisputable, genuine honkytonk experience.  I mean hey, anyone bringing some “Waylon” and a steel guitar to the stage is ok by me. Really looking forward to their The City Tap debut!
