Be very careful. Bamboo is a very aggressive species and will not remain “outside your fence”. Feel free to visit The Dykers Bldg. at 401 N. Ivy Ave, just west of old Chatham Hospital, and observe the
bamboo on the west side of the building and parking lot. You may have sll you want, including shoots to plant if you still think you want such an aggessive plant in your area.

You might also consult any neighbors closer than several hundred feet of your fence, as the bamboo will expand in all directions.
