Subject: Animal Control Still Has Spay/Neuter Vouchers, Rabies Vaccination  Clinic

Chatham County Animal Control is still offering spay/neuter vouchers to qualifying residents for $20.

These vouchers allow owners to choose a participating veterinarian for their animal’s surgery.  All dogs and cats that spend time outdoors should be spayed or neutered.  Spaying and neutering of dogs and cats reduces the number of unwanted animals that end up in overcrowded shelters.  Overcrowding leads to euthanasia. For more information about the program and who qualifies, please call Chatham County Animal Control at 919-542-7203.

Animal Control will also hold a rabies clinic on Saturday, May 18 from 9 AM to 1 PM at Lowe’s in Pittsboro. All pets must either be on a leash or in a carrier. Cost is $5 per pet.  NC state law requires that all dogs and cats have a current rabies vaccination.
