>  I appreciate Mia Munn’s notes from the last school board meeting posted to the chatlist last week . However, I need to correct her mistaken interpretation of comments by one school board member regarding filling the vacant school board seat. Board member Delcinia Turner spoke about how politics had intruded  the process, including lobbying by county commissioners.  Ms. Munn speculated that Brian Bock and I were the commissioners who lobbied the school board. That is not correct.

> I did not lobby, in public or in private, any individual Board of Education member.  Nor did I attend the school board deliberations on filling this seat.   I did attend the one meeting where the school board  interviewed both candidates.  I purposely stayed away from all other meetings where the school board debated  this issue because, given our ficuciary relationship,  I felt it inapproriate  to lobby for one candidate over another or in anyway interfere with the internal workings of the school board.

> It was disappointing that the school board could not reach a decision regarding which candidate to appoint to the vacant seat. I believe their decision was complicated by outside interference. Unfortunately, a special election can not be held until November, thus, the seat will remain vacant until then.
