Child Care Networks is again sponsoring The Day of Books/ El Dia de los Libros on April 27, in Siler City from 10-2pm. It is a very special day to celebrate and promote literacy and encourage children to read. The day will be filled with many fun activities — juggling, mime, art, music, drama, games and food.
We hope that each child take home at least one new free book, and as many used ones as can be collected through donations. Residents of Chatham County are invited to search their children’s (or grandchildren’s) book shelves for unwanted books in good condition and donate them to this event. A large box is located at Angelina’s Restarurant in Pittsboro and another is at Paperbacks Plus on 208 E Raleigh Street in Siler City.(hours= Wed 9-1,Thurs/Fri 12-5:30, Sat 10:30-5) Your books can be left there at any time that is convenient. Thank you very much for your help with this effort!
