Third Annual Vision And Voice event at The Joyful Jewel March 24th
The Joyful Jewel in Pittsboro, NC, is taking submissions for their third annual art-inspired reading, Vision and Voice: A Poetic Journey Through the Gallery. Writers of all ages and levels are invited to come to the gallery, pen in hand, ready to be inspired by a piece of art, jewelry, or craft for a poem, an impression, or a short bit of prose. Writings will be compiled along with a photograph of the inspiring art for publication in a booklet available for viewing on March 24th when the writers and artists will present their work together.
View creative works from our artists any time during our shoppe hours Monday through Saturday, 10:30am to 5:30pm, and Sunday, 12pm to 4pm. We’re also hosting a special “CommunityWrite-In” for writing classes or anyone who wishes to write at the same time as other writers on Saturday, February 23rd, 1 – 2pm (other times are available for classes by arrangement). While you’re here, let us know which piece you are writing about so we can take a picture of it and invite the artist to speak about their work at the event.
The Visions and Voice even, hosted by writer/professor Michele Berger, will take place on Sunday, March 24th, 2013, 3pm to 6pm. There will be a 5-minute limit for each writer to read aloud.
