Subject: Chatham Charter High School Social Saturday
Chatham Charter School will hold an open gym pizza party for rising freshmen and sophomores interested in learning more about the high school on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 4pm to 9pm. Free activities will include a DJ, pick-up basketball games, pizza, snacks and drinks, and other activities. School officials will be present to briefly discuss and get feedback on the new high school, as well as answer any questions.
“The purpose of this is really two-fold,” explained Dr. John Eldridge, Headmaster of Chatham Charter. “We want to create a time and space where the students can come in, hang out with old friends and meet new ones, and get a feel for what our high school is going to be like. But perhaps more importantly, we want to hear from them about what they want the high school to be like – the types of activities, clubs and sports they might be interested in.”
All rising ninth and tenth graders who have submitted an application to the high school will receive four admission tickets, one for themselves and the remaining tickets to invite their friends, regardless of whether or not those friends have submitted an application to the high school. There will also be a drawing for three iTunes gift cards valued at $50 each. Applicants to the school who are in attendance will be entered into the drawing for each ticket used for admission, allowing their names to be entered up to four times, and must be present to win.
Applications are currently being accepted to fill the 100 slots for ninth and tenth grades, with the deadline set for February 28, 2013. Applicants will be selected for admission by lottery on March 6, 2013.
