Just a few upcoming events you don’t want to miss this Fall from your local Arts Council.

This one is a must-see. Next week we will be screening the moving and provocative film “Hell and Back Again” at the Fearrington Barn, Wednesday October 24th at 7pm. 2012 Academy Award Nominee “Best Documentary Feature”• Winner- Grand Jury Prize  2011 Sundance Film Festival. (Documentary/ 88 min.)

A master filmmaker and photographer, Danfung Dennis follows 25-year-old Marine Sgt. Nathan Harris on his most difficult mission: coming home after being seriously wounded in Afghanistan. Embedded with Harris’s unit during their assault on a Taliban stronghold, Dennis brilliantly toggles between the intense experience of war, stunningly photographed by the director himself, and the challenges of re-adjusting to civilian life in small town North Carolina. Hell and Back Again brings the war home in ways that make gun-toting soldiering look like a day at the beach compared with the physical and psychic scars that manifest upon returning home. We’ll have a special post-screening discussion with psychological specialist Dr. Tom Harbin.

Save the Date for the 41st Annual Bluegrass Experience Concert. Join Tommy Edwards and friends for a Sunday afternoon concert experience at the Fearrington Barn at 4pm, November 18th.
