Subject: Teachers Pay
Whether it be teachers or all public servants, they are underpaid. They do it for job security and benefits but in my opinion the teachers do it because they like it and it shows. If you enjoy your job, you do a good job as is evident in Chatham County. Their benefits are under attack as is the private sector.
In general our life is controlled by big business and the legislators they control. I am not sure how this impacts ChCo but the less we are paid the more the businesses make especially the CEOs and no matter what is said, more profit (including lower taxes) does not create jobs. If it does create jobs they are overseas as well as the profits. I do not know what the solution is except tax the ones who can pay and leave the teachers alone and pay them what they deserve. We are lucky to have them teach for what they are paid.
As a side note how many of us work a job we don’t like just because we get health insurance.
