Subject: book sales person
A few days ago I read about the book sales person, then thursday midday my door bell rang and it was him, I opened the door and when I saw that it was THIs book person, I said no thank you, then he asked if I could help him out, and before he even finished his sentence I cut him off and said No and bye bye and closed and locked my door.
He was driving a silver jeep (I think Cherokee) I watched out my windows upstairs and it went up two doors from me and talked to an older neighbor, she told him she didn’t want to buy anything, then he asked her if anyone else in the neighborhood has little kids since he was selling these kids study guide books, she mentioned the only other two families who are here without mentioning me, because the other two are rarely home and I WAS. she called me and told me this…. I think I was the first stop since I have the typical mommy van in the driveway.
I then spoke to my husband and he told me to call the police, after talking to PBO police they referred me to the Chatham sheriff’s dept, since I’m out of town limits, the sheriff there told me, that door to door selling is not illegal, unless I have a “NO SOLICITING” sign on my door, but he would send someone to patrol my area for a while and see if they can find this guy and ID him- hispanic male mid twenties…. I was out thursday night, but my husband was home with the kids (his car in the driveway now) and the guy came BACK!!- doesn’t this guy remember he was just here???
I will make up a sign and put it on my door now!
