Do recycling center attendants treat the sites as their own private shopping centers?

and the Nazis who run them!

What is going on here? I went to my local dump yesterday with my usual stuff plus a couple of used up small appliances. When I went to toss them into the appropriate bin, I noticed someone had thrown away a small serviceable router table.

I went to the guard(?) shack and asked if I could retrieve it and he said “No!, it’s not right. Once it gets here it’s county property!”

I said something like “come on man”. I left before I said something about that these were RECYCLE centers moron!

But I have run into this kind of behavior by these guards(?) before and have learned that they cannot make decisions on their own. What’s up with that?

Anyway, thinking back, what about the stuff in the “swap shop” area? This was an item that should have been placed in that area. In that case, no problem.

Why doesn’t the county take steps to train these folks a little better?

Besides, at other collection sites over the years, I have noticed that some guards(?) treat their sites as private shopping centers.

Any ideas/contact info/suggestions out there?
