*Who is this woman ripping down signs for Haw River Christian School in Pittsboro?*

Randy Dye chases down a woman who claims to be a Pittsboro resident and is going around ripping down signs that read

“Over 70 Businesses Support the Haw River Christian Academy, renovating a long empty building on Salisbury Street to house their rapidly growing school.
Ask these officials *Why They Do Not*
Mayor Randy Voller
Commissioner Beth Turner
Commissioner Beth Wilson Foley
Commissioner Pam Baldwin”

*Does anyone know who this woman is?* If she is really a Pittsboro resident it should be pretty easy to identify her. Please let us all know.

Why is this seemingly intolerant woman ripping down the signs that don’t belong to her?

Well, based on the discussion on the Chatham BBS, it looks like we have found our culprit

It appears that it is Rachel Hoff of the herbal medicine store in Pittsboro.

She reportedly approached Chris (owner of Virlies) and stated that “the Christians were using hate against the town board”.
(I guess no one can disagree with a liberal viewpoint without it being called “hate speech”)

Who is Rachel Hoff?

Rachel Hoff, Librarian

Rachel Hoff has resided in the exceptional and vibrant community that is Pittsboro for 6 years.  She has a Masters in Library and Information Sciences and works at the Health Sciences Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She has been doing yoga for over ten years and loves her integrative medical professional and acupuncturist.

This is what Rachel and her friends, the Estills think of their Pittsboro neighbors

Yesterday, Piedmont Biofuels entered the Pittsboro Christmas Parade for the first time and I do believe the Christmas Parade will never be the same. Nor will we.

There was a large REMAX float in front of us and Rachel Hoff was very upset at the waste that was happening as the teens were throwing their candy on the ground and basically just littering while we were all waiting.

As soon as we start moving, we see that REMAX has a hot air balloon (without the balloon)on their float and are shooting huge flames into the sky….which we were a little worried that they would blow up the power lines and we were all going to die. Besides that, we thought about how ironic it was to be right behind the biggest user of petroleum in the parade. Not only that, but as the candy was flying off the floats, people were diving to get the candy…not just the kids, but adults were filling their huge Walmart bags with cheap candy that was coming off the floats. It was like a riot scene and instead of smiling and doing the wave, Rachel and I were watching the town in horror.

In the video, business people who support a local school in downtown Pittsboro are –

Chris from Virlie’s
Cadle Cooper from barbershop
Donna Bianco from Bella Donna’s

I doubt that Randy Voller, Beth Turner, Beth Wilson Foley, and Pam Baldwin are intolerant religious bigots. So why do these 4 oppose a Christian School in downtown Pittsboro?

  1. I am Rachel Hoff. I was very upset by these hateful negative signs placed all over the lovely little town of Pittsboro. They are in no way productive. As I asked merchants that were displaying this sign- Support rezoning for the Haw River Christian Academy but don’t point fingers, lie, and accuse people that are just trying to make the town of Pittsboro a fantastic place to live.
I am sorry that no one seems to understand this.
