I believe Mr. Starkweather knows there is nothing to fear from fracking (I give him that much credit).
I think it is a pretty good bet ALL those “concerned” citizens Mr. Starkweather specifically mentions in his post regarding fracking ALSO know CHATHAMITES should not fear fracking. Legitimate concerns and questions are ALL answered using responsible GOOGLE searches or spending time in our library. You may also find kooky, wild, weird fantasies about the end of the world as we know it regarding fracking if you so desire. Asking GOOGLE, “How will the world end?” gives 6,110,000 results (6.1 million)..
NO fracking will take place in North Carolina without EVERY state agency and many federal agencies making it 99.9% IMPOSSIBLE. County government does not make the rules. County government enforces state laws and rules; sometimes aggressively – sometimes less. There are PLENTY state and federal enforcers.
I believe there were “concerned” citizens who came to ask “legitimate questions” who really came to BULLY the invited speaker BECAUSE he was invited by those EVIL commissioners led by THE MOST EVIL Brian Bock. If Mr. Starkweather had invited a guest to speak on fracking, those same concerned questioners would have had an entirely different attitude and THAT would have been JUST as obvious.
I believe Mr. Starkweather has another agenda he is wrapping around this latest “Cause-of-the-Day”. I believe Mr. Starkweather sees himself as a leader of these kinds of bullies and his outbursts are to rally like-minded bullies and sustain his narcissistic view of his own power and worth. I believe Mr. Starkweather loves the adulation bullies give when ginning up a mob. (Do a GOOGLE search on “mob”.)
Why attack Mr. Morris’s employment or residence unless to distract from the truth of his comments?
There are bullies at the state and national level who would stand against Jesus Christ if He came out for energy independence in the United States. Fracking, if approved ANYWHERE in the U.S. would aid energy independence. There are 4,000 oil and natural gas rigs ALREADY in the Gulf of Mexico and many are OWNED, operated, and refined in other countries. The U.S. federal government regulates the U.S. oil and natural gas industries almost as much as U.S. nuclear power. One U.S. regulator can shut down a U.S.-regulated rig. China, Viet Nam, Mexico, and Cuba are drilling new wells right now in the Gulf of Mexico WITHOUT U.S. approval or oversight. I do NOT believe their standards are strict as U.S. standards.
