Storytelling for Grown-Ups at the General Store Café

Storytelling for Grown Ups will take place on Tuesday, October 25 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the General Store Café in Pittsboro.  The night will feature a variety of storytelling styles and stories from some of the area¹s finest storytellers for only $5.00!  If you¹re interested $10.00 gets you the buffet dinner.

Event organizer, Garry Lipson is a retired high school construction teacher and cross country track coach.  His hilarious personal experience stories will have you on the edge of your seat.

Joining Lipson is Bob Langford who has been a longtime storytelling fixture in the Triangle first in print at the News & Observer, then on TV at WRAL, then for people who couldnŒt read or afford televisions, on WPTF radio.

Rounding out the line-up is Jane Hauser.  She is a graduate of UNC, has been on-air talent with WBTV in Charlotte and taught French and English in Charlotte, Greensboro and Providence, RI.  She shares stories of being a football coach¹s daughter, a coal miner¹s granddaughter and newspaperman¹s wife.  Hauser has been a professional storyteller for four years and has taught fairy tale interpretation at OLLI at Duke.  She has entertained at the NC Storytelling Festival and will represent 8 Southeastern states as a teller at the National Storytelling Network conference in Los Angeles.

Although this program is not intended for small children, young people ages 10 and up will definitely enjoy this event.
