Subject: Northwood Men’s Soccer wins over Jordan Matthews 4-0
The Chargers put together two full halves for the first time this season and came away with a 4-0 win over Jordan Matthews in Pittsboro Tuesday night.
Connor Lawrence started the scoring with a throw-in assist from Joey Suprick at the ten minute mark. An early second half goal by Max Middleton off a deflection made it 2-0. Max scored again with an assist from Connor Lawrence to make it 3-0. Anthony Castro scored the final goal with an assist from Josh Alvord to finish the scoring.
Five minutes into the match Defender Nate Holst received a broken nose after contact in the box. Joey suprick took his position and proceded to have a fantastic game from the back. Blake Svendsen was also outstanding from his sweeper position. Chase Golden and Daniel Burwell combined again to pitch the shutout.
Northwood is home Thursday night vs East Wake Academy @7pm.
