There’s GOT to be something better than the CenturyLink travesty

Subject: CenturyLink Alternative?

Does anyone know of a viable alternative to CenturyLink for Internet in the Big Woods Rd. area? My Internet connection been up and down since 7/25, down completely on 8/5, and finally back up now (with my fingers crossed). In my every day tech support call, I was frequently told something will happen in “24-48 hours”. I have since learned this is NOT elapsed time, but business hours – thus, call at 5pm Friday and “48 hours” means maybe Wednesday…as if they can fix anything anyway.

There’s GOT to be something better than the CenturyLink travesty.

  1. This is Joey with CenturyLink. I’m sorry to read about the trouble you’ve had with our service. I’d be happy to help look into the issue. If you fill out this form, http://on.fb.me/pDFnvq, we can investigate and hopefully resolve the problem for you. Thanks.

  2. Did you find a good alternative to Centurylink? I was just told by Centurylink that although i pay for 20 mbps there’s no minimum requirement. So my average between 12 and 14 mbps is all I get and it’s just too bad for me. I’ve never exceeded 15.9. That was at 2:00 a.m. When I asked to speak to a manager, the “tech” said she’d have one call me. When I asked when to expect the call. She said she couldn’t give a time or date. I’ll check back soon. Maybe this deserves a Facebook blog site.

  3. My phone and internet services has been out since Thursday 07/18/2013. I experienced a shouting match with a Superviser on Thyrsday or friday. I was given several time when I woule have service from07/17/2013 until today and still no service! I called again this day and spoke with a manager over the supervisor and he too asured I woud have service by 7:00pm today and it’s now 6:00pm and no contact or service. I did file a complaint with FCC and will file acomplaint with NC attorney General later today. Centurylink is so unprofessional and doesn’t seem to care. If my associate did not satisfied a customer they would not go home until they complete the job they were paid to do during their work shift. Oh how I wish ther were someelse in this rural area that had DSL service, you would have to worry with me any longer!
