In Chatlist #4058 Doctor John Dykers asked Snowcamper to “When you post a well written essay clearly stating your point of view, please sign your name”

John. do you ever wonder why some people might not want to use their real names?

Here are a couple of examples of why people choose not to use their real names. In both cases it’s due to the unprincipled practices of the Chatham Coalition. The same Chatham Coalition, whose leaders are now the leaders of our local Democratic party –

Per Mike Fox in his blog at http://peacefulcapitalist.blogspot.com/2011/03/have-shot-of-spro-or-should-we-attack.html

During the 2008 Democratic primary campaign, a Chatham Coalition steering committee member clumsily and unsuccessfully tried to get someone on the Mike Cross and Pat Barnes campaign team in trouble at work because that person was sending emails to the chatlist on what the complainer thought was company time and company resources.  This was someone who had worked happily and cooperatively with the same person two years before and never had a complaint about this email practice then.

Mike say this is the first time he had been working with a group directly against the Coalition so he didn’t know if this was a common practice of theirs but he suspected that “a tiger doesn’t change its stripes.”

Does anyone remember John Hammond? John Hammond was the spiteful vice Chairman of the Chatham Coalition who told us voters in western Chatham County that he did not need us for his Coalition candidates to win. (we proved him WRONG in 2010, didn’t we)

Mike Fox notes that the same John Hammond used to make not-so-veiled threats to posters he disagreed with who he thought were posting on  their company’s time and computers. His implication has always been that since he’s retired he’s untouchable but everyone who works better watch their step.

And the Chatham Coalition wonders how they got so unpopular!

And let’s not forget about Jeffrey Starkweather, the man who tries to constantly convince us that he is smarter than he really is. The Independent Weekly defined him as the primary force behind the Chatham Coalition, who browbeat those who don’t share his views. (You all might want to ask Mike Cross about good ol’ Jeffrey)

As someone who might be recognized in western Chatham, I choose to keep my surname to myself because I and my familly do not not need the hassle and vitriol that eminates from the Chatham Coalition crowd.

The Chatham Coakition may have gotten rid of their organization’s name, but they are now unfortunately in key positions in our local party organization.

PS to Randy Voller – Save both of us some time. Please do not send me anymore private emails. I am too aware of your political practices and manuevering as a leader in the Chatham Coalition, Pittsboro Together, etc. As someone has already noted “a tiger doesn’t change its stripes.”
