“Chathammatters” – who hides behind an alias but simultaneously worries that some people might pretend to be someone else at the polls – says:

“If you believe that the immigration laws need to be changed, then by all means propose changes to the law through our elected representatives and legislation ”

The immigration laws in this country are, quite literally, broken –  because they do not work.  If they did, we wouldn’t have the problems we are all experiencing, not just those of us in North Carolina.

What we need are elected representatives who have the guts to address this situation head on, not pretend that there are any easy answers or that it’s the fault of the immigrants themselves.

“If you want more voters in your political party, don’t violate or subvert our immigration laws to get them.”

There are plenty of naturalized citizens – not only in this county, but in this country, as well – and their numbers are growing fast enough that they already have a huge influence on politics.

Those who claim that they are trying to steal the vote are just trying to deny the amount of influence they already have.

If you are a politician, you would be wiser to treat them with the respect they deserve and listen to what they have to say, because they will be your constituents whether you like it or not.
