Chatham County Democratic Party, LEED Gold Margaret B. Pollard Middle School Holds District 4 Convention!

[Chatham County] – Saturday, May 14, the Chatham County Democratic
Party will be having their Congressional Conventions.  The
Congressional District 4 Convention will be held at the new LEED Gold
Margaret B. Pollard Middle School.  Being recognized as a LEED Gold
building means that Margaret Pollard Middle has been rated very highly
by the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) in water
efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor
environmental quality and as a sustainable site.  The District 4
Convention’s registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the convention
begins at 9:00 a.m.  Congressional District 4 is represented by long
time North Carolina Democrat, David Price.  The outstanding Chatham
County Teen Democrats will be selling refreshments at the convention
to raise money for their upcoming trip to Washington D.C.  Come early
and socialize!

Congressional District 2 will gather at the Lee County Courthouse.
Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. and the convention starts at 11:00
a.m.  Congressional District 2 is currently represented by Renee
Ellmers.  The Lee County Democratic Women will also be holding a cake
sale at the convention.  Proceeds will go to help those who lost homes
and possessions to the recent storms.  Please feel free to bring a
cake for the cause or purchase something delicious in support of Lee
County.

Delegates attending the convention will vote on resolutions to be sent to the state convention.  Discussion will center on how the party can focus on creating jobs and opportunities; as well as address the real problems and concerns of the people of North Carolina.

After either convention come by Siler City Alive to enjoy great food and live music.  While there make sure to support the Voter Registration Booth being hosted by the Chatham County Teen Democrats.
Siler City Alive will run from noon to 7:00 p.m.
