Ms. Black,

I appreciate your post about your concerns, but PLEASE get your FACTS straight before you start attacking us and the Pittsboro Merchant’s Association (now known as Pittsboro Business Association).

Yes, the turnout was low this month, but that has nothing to do with advertising. There was a big event held in Pittsboro on Saturday (Gaslight Circus) and people probably didn’t want to come out two days in a row. Also, consider that a lot of people were most likely heading back home or relaxing after a long vacation from spring break. In my opinion and many others, The Pittsboro Business Association (PBA) does a great job getting the info out ot the public. I have seen ads in the local paper, they have a Facebook page and a website. They also put it right here, our very own Chatlist! I have also seen their flyers and handouts at the stores along downtown and other eating establishments. I have it on my website, Facebook and Twitter accounts. To help you out, I’ll post the links to all of these sites below.

Our business name is “Shot of Spro” not “Shot of Spor”. “Spro” is short for espresso.

We use propane to run our business, yes, and it is one the cleanest smelling fuels you can burn. If I built the van myself, I may have gone another route, but I purchased the vehicle as it was. Once the generator dies, I do plan on taking another route to lessen the noise, which is far less noiser than most generators since it is encased. In the 18 months I’ve been in business, I’ve never heard anyone tell us that their eyes burn or the smell of the propane is killing them and they stand right next to the van, sometimes for up to a half hour just chit-chatting.

Also, there was another vendor there that was using a generator on the opposite end of us that you didn’t mention, why?

I had inquired about using the electricity back when I first applied in September 2009 and the coordinator said they didn’t have access or permission to use it from the Town (we have an electrical box right next to us at 1st Sunday). If you have strings you can pull to get us electricity for those 4 hours, please feel free to help. It would sure save us money as well because it costs us $4.50 per hour to run our generator. It would only cost $0.50 for the entire 4 hours in electricity.

We are no longer parked at the Old Pittsboro Ford Lot on electricity. We went fully mobile in the middle of March. We are now at the CITGO gas station (Cooper Bros store) next to McDonald’s on 15/501 in Pittsboro on Mondays from 7am – 1pm. Our full schedule and events and fundraisers we attend are on our website at www.shotofspro.com

I believe I have addressed your concerns and please feel free to let us know if you have anymore.
