Subject: Shot of Spor: Wake Up Smell Coffee: Generator Stinks
For the second month in a row, I have gone to the Pittsboro First Sunday street gala. Parked on the corner of Hillsboro and Salisbury Sts., is the huge “Shot of Spor”- Their generator huffing, puffing, popping and smelling up the area. I know they have a way of doing business without that annoying generator. And there are electrical hook-ups available on Hillsboro St. Shot of Spor sits all day in the Old Ford lot without making that noise and smell. If I were a vendor and paid for a space on First Sunday and was subjected to that “business”, I would be very angry. You can hear that noise from quite a distance away.
And since the streets were nearly empty this past Sunday, the annoying noise was even more evident. Not much effort seems to be put into letting the public know about this monthly event. Shame on Shot of Spor for their lack of concern about making the noise- AND SHAME ON PITTSBORO MERCHANT’S ASSOCIATION for permitting it and allowing it to go on.
