Here are two great opportunities to learn two basic skills which will keep you eating Bread and Honey forever:

SUSTAINABLE BEEKEEPING WORKSHOP
Saturday, May 7, 2011 10am – 2pm at The Plant located at 192 Lorax Lane in Pittsboro, NC

Join Catherine Adamson of Chapel Hill Bees LLC to explore the ins and outs of sustainable beekeeping. This workshop is ideal for those with no previous experience with bees or for hobbyists who want to explore a different way of keeping bees.
Catherine Adamson is the president and chief bee-wrangler of Chapel Hill Bees LLC.  She’s completely fascinated by the elegant collective behavior of honey bee colonies and, being a total geek, loves sharing bees with others.

The hands-on portion of the workshop will invite you to experience the zen of beekeeping and to become familiar with the tools and techniques beekeepers have at their disposal when handling bees and honey. An observation hive will allow attendees to get up close and personal with a working colony, and if weather permits we will open the hive and walk through a basic colony examination. Each participant will take home a section of fresh comb honey.

EASY BREADS WORKSHOP
Sunday, June 18, 2011 10am – 2pm, Located at The Plant, 192 Lorax Lane, Pittsboro, NC.
