Subject: Northwood Sports Update
Tuesday-
– The varsity baseball and softball teams defeated Roxboro.
Yesterday-
– The Northwood JV Girls Soccer Team scored another win this afternoon as they defeated Cary Academy by a score of 3 to 0. Manon Macallister scored a line drive breakaway goal to start off the scoring followed by Sierra Atwater on an assist by Tasha Rothenberger. Waverly Logan scored the final goal on a great pass by Diana Bourn. Anna LaRocco Masi just missed an additional goal that just barely hit the crossbar. A great defensive effort by the entire team along with some excellent work by keeper Tori Nothnagel kept Cary Academy off the scoreboard. The Lady Chargers JV squad now has a record of 2-0-1.
– Durham and NCSSM were not good to the Chargers on Wednesday evening as they put the wood to us 5-2. NHS came out strong and scored early with a Gaby Mehringer goal after a nice assist from Mikkie Gallagher. It was all downhill from there as NCSSM scored five unanswered goals. NHS scored late on an Anna Elkins shot. Hannah Holloway did an excellent defensive job on UNC recruit Bianca Gray all evening. Next match is at DSA on Monday. The team falls to 6-2 on the season.

– Varsity Baseball lost to Randleman last night 6-0
